I finally finished painting my front door, a few minor touch-ups notwithstanding. I think the Sherwin-Williams Greenblack is just what the doctor ordered for that shabby thing!
The color is pretty close to what was depicted with Sherwin-Williams’ Online Color Tool; it’s just a wee bit darker, but that could be lighting issues and the sheen. I used a gloss paint, and the color tools might depict a satin or semi-gloss. It’s hard to say:
Either way, it’s much better than where I started:
On a different note, I almost stepped on this little guy. He was crawling on my lower gallery. I think he’s a luna moth caterpillar:
That photo is a little blurry because I was trying to use the macro setting on my camera while he was on the move. I sure hope he finds a nice, cozy place to build his cocoon. I think Luna Moths are so beautiful!
Mine was spent laboring. I finally decided on a color for the front door and am in the process of painting it now. I decided to go with Sherwin Williams’ Greenblack:
That’s not the finished project, of course. That’s the photo I created when playing around with the color tools on the Sherwin-Williams website. The final product will be much nicer because I stripped the old peeling stain and varnish before painting. I’ll post a final picture soon!
I’m so excited because Autumn is just around the corner. I can’t wait to get the door in place and add some Fall decorations to the front porch. I’m actually holding back because I really want to be in full-tilt Halloween mode.
