I finally finished painting my front door, a few minor touch-ups notwithstanding.  I think the Sherwin-Williams Greenblack is just what the doctor ordered for that shabby thing!

The color is pretty close to what was depicted with Sherwin-Williams’ Online Color Tool; it’s just a wee bit darker, but that could be lighting issues and the sheen.  I used a gloss paint, and the color tools might depict a satin or semi-gloss.  It’s hard to say:

Either way, it’s much better than where I started:

On a different note, I almost stepped on this little guy.  He was crawling on my lower gallery.  I think he’s a luna moth caterpillar:

That photo is a little blurry because I was trying to use the macro setting on my camera while he was on the move.  I sure hope he finds a nice, cozy place to build his cocoon.  I think Luna Moths are so beautiful!

Mine was spent laboring.  I finally decided on a color for the front door and am in the process of painting it now.  I decided to go with Sherwin Williams’ Greenblack:

That’s not the finished project, of course.  That’s the photo I created when playing around with the color tools on the Sherwin-Williams website.  The final product will be much nicer because I stripped the old peeling stain and varnish before painting.  I’ll post a final picture soon!

I’m so excited because Autumn is just around the corner.  I can’t wait to get the door in place and add some Fall decorations to the front porch.  I’m actually holding back because I really want to be in full-tilt Halloween mode.  ;-)
